We collect information that you provide directly to us to generate your metaphysical charts and manage your account:

• ✦Account Data: Name and email address (provided during sign-up for both free and paid tiers).
• ✦Astrological / Numerological Data: Date of birth, exact time of birth, and place of birth.
• ✦Payment Data: Transaction metadata. All payments are processed by Stripe. Occultous does not store your credit card numbers or CVV on our servers.
• ✦Usage Data: We use Google Analytics to collect information on how you interact with our site (e.g., pages visited, time spent) to improve the user experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data for the following purposes:

• ✦Service Delivery: To calculate and display your natal and numerology charts on your dashboard.
• ✦Personalization: To provide AI-generated interpretations via the OpenAI API. Your birth data is sent to OpenAI to generate your reading, but it is not used by them to train their general models.
• ✦Communication: To send transactional emails (receipts and updates) and, if you opt in, newsletters and promotional offers via Mailchimp.
• ✦Subscription Management: To track your trial status and billing cycles.

3. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We only share information with sub-processors necessary to run the app:

• ✦Stripe: For secure payment processing.
• ✦OpenAI: To process your chart data for AI-driven insights.
• ✦Mailchimp: To manage our email lists and marketing.
• ✦Google Analytics: To analyze site traffic.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

• ✦Active Accounts: We retain your birth data and account info as long as your account is active so you can access your dashboard.
• ✦Canceled Subscriptions: If you cancel a subscription but keep your account, we retain your data so you can reactivate later.
• ✦Account Deletion: If you request to delete your account, we will purge your personal birth data and email from our active database.
• ✦Legal Exceptions: We are required by law to keep basic transaction records (e.g., Stripe receipts) for 7 years for tax and auditing purposes.

5. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures, including SSL encryption, to protect your sensitive birth information. While no system is 100% secure, we take all reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorized access.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in any email we send.
